The World: New York - Gary Goldsmith to depart Young & Rubicam

Gary Goldsmith, Young & Rubicam's North American chief creative officer, is quitting the group after two-and-a-half years.

His departure is thought to be linked with next month's arrival of Tony Granger from Saatchi & Saatchi as worldwide creative director.

Goldsmith, who joined Y&R as the chief creative officer of its New York office, was said to be leaving to "pursue other interests".

Hamish McLennan, Y&R's worldwide chief executive, said: "Gary's passion for good work inspired our team across North America and we're unquestionably in a better place for his efforts."
