The World: New York - Mark Rosenthal named as IPG media chief

Mark Rosenthal (pictured), the former MTV Networks chief operating officer, has been appointed as the chief executive of Interpublic Group's worldwide media agency operations.

The move is part of a reorganisation that has seen both Universal McCann's worldwide chief executive, Robin Kent, and Initiative's global chairman, Marie-Jose Forissier, recently dismissed.

Rosenthal will restructure both companies' management following GM Mediaworks' loss of General Motors' $3.2 billion media buying account, Universal McCann's loss of Nestle's $550 million media account and Initiative's loss of the $650 million European Unilever business.
