The World: New York - Maroun quits Y&R to become Arnold's president

Mary Maroun, the managing partner of Young & Rubicam New York, is joining Arnold as the president and managing director of its New York office.

She succeeds Fran Kelly, who was promoted in March to the position of chief executive and president of Arnold's American operations.

Maroun will partner John Staffen, the chief creative officer and managing partner. The pair first worked together in 1996 at TBWA\Chiat\Day, where Mahoun rose to the position of managing director.

In recent months, Arnold's New York office has picked up a number of new-business wins including Lee Jeans, Hershey's and Viacom's Spike TV.
