The World: New York - McCarthy hired as new Publicis chief executive

Publicis New York has appointed Joseph McCarthy as its new chief executive.

McCarthy joins from Johnson & Johnson's Global Marketing Group, where he had been the vice-president of worldwide advertising and marketing communications since 2005.

In his new role, McCarthy will partner Rob Feakins, the agency's president and chief creative officer, in leading the New York office.

He will report directly to Susan Gianinno, the chairman and chief executive of Publicis Worldwide in the US.
