The World: New York - MindShare lands Sprint Nextel business

MindShare has won the $745 million consolidated Sprint Nextel media planning and buying business.

The company reviewed its roster arrangements after the merger of Sprint and Nextel in July last year. Before the review, the business was divided between Starcom, which held the larger consumer account, and MindShare, which ran the smaller business account. MindShare will now also look after the digital business.

A spokeswoman for Sprint said it was unlikely that the media result would lead to a consolidation of the company's creative account.
