The World: New York - O&M to run creative at troubled Wachovia bank

Wachovia, the US bank that has been acquired by Citigroup, has appointed Ogilvy & Mather to handle the creative and media on its ad account.

The WPP agency led a team that defeated Young & Rubicam in a final shoot-out. Omnicom's Merkley & Partners was eliminated earlier, as was Interpublic's Lowe.

Both the Citi and Wachovia brands will remain intact for the time being. It is not clear whether either will run campaigns to address customer concerns.
