The World: New York - Y&R wins Weight Watchers creative account

Young & Rubicam has won the $45 million Weight Watchers North American advertising brief, beating Lowe and TBWA\Chiat\Day to the account.

Weight Watchers' media will be run by Y&R's WPP sister company GroupM, while direct marketing will be handled by RTC, a division of Y&R Brands in Washington. Interactive advertising goes to VML in Kansas City.

The review was managed by the Boston-based management consulting company Pile and Company, and did not include the creative incumbent, The Seiden Group.
