The World: Paris - JCDecaux poised to buy outdoor specialist VVR-Berek

JCDecaux is set to acquire the German outdoor advertising company VVR-Berek, formerly owned by the transport company Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe.

The deal is conditional upon the approval of the German cartel authority as well as the formalisation of a legal tender process.

VVR-Berek, which generated advertising revenues of EUR27 million in 2005, has operated outdoor advertising contracts in Berlin since 1921.

It has an extensive portfolio of advertising panels, including 3,000 columns, 1,400 billboards, 1,240 buses and thousands of panels in the Berlin Metro system.
