The World: Qingdao - Haier switches Olympics creative assignment

Haier, the Chinese white goods giant, has switched its Olympics creative assignment to DraftFCB, ending its relationship with DDB.

DraftFCB will work with Initiative, its Interpublic stablemate, which will retain Haier's media planning and buying business.

However, the company is believed to have dropped two other Rinaldi-appointed agencies - Burson Marsteller and Star Group.

DraftFCB will be the third agency to work on Haier's Olympics campaign in less than a year, after DDB and Young & Rubicam. But Gary Tse, the DraftFCB Greater China chief executive, said: "What's happened is in the past. I have complete confidence in delivering a superb campaign."
