The World: San Francisco - Publicis hires Liss as new chief of strategy

Publicis & Hal Riney has appointed Julie Liss to the newly created position of chief strategy officer.

Liss joins the agency from TBWA\Chiat\Day Los Angeles, where she was the director of strategy and planning.

She will be based in Hal Riney's San Francisco office, and will report to Kristi D. VandenBosch, the chief executive of Publicis & Hal Riney.

During her time at TBWA\Chiat\Day, Liss oversaw a 30-person planning department, working across a range of clients including Nissan and Gatorade.

Before that, she was the director of planning at Saatchi & Saatchi and had founded the brand consultancy company The Brand Biography Group.
