The World: Shanghai - Hicks quits post as Proximity managing director

Proximity Shanghai's managing director, Narelle Hicks, has left the agency only one year into the role.

Hicks' departure follows Glenn Barlett, the former executive creative director, who left at the end of 2008, and precedes Gavin Cranston, the director of client services, who is set to leave in May.

Carol Potter, the chief executive of its sister agency BBDO China, denied that the departures would have an impact on Proximity Shanghai.

Potter said that BBDO China's executive creative director, Wai Foong Leong, was overseeing Proximity Shanghai's creative output, and denied that Proximity Shanghai would be folded into BBDO China.
