The World: Shanghai - JWT loses Nike China in run-up to Beijing Olympics

Nike has moved its Chinese creative advertising account out of JWT and into Wieden & Kennedy.

W&K, which handles Nike in numerous global markets, including the US, was chosen following a five-way pitch involving the incumbent, JWT, Publicis Mojo in Australia and the Shanghai independents DMG and Nitro.

W&K will run the business out of its Shanghai office, opened last year.

The sportswear company is expected to increase its communication spend in the run-up to the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

JWT handled the account for eight years out of its Shanghai office.
