The World: Shanghai - Neil French picks up Lifetime Achievement Award

Neil French, the former WPP Group worldwide creative director, is to receive the New York Festival's Lifetime Achievement Award at a ceremony in Shanghai on 25 July.

French, who founded the World Press Awards and spent a number of years working for Ogilvy & Mather and the Ball Partnership, is being recognised for his role in bringing the creative revolution to Asia.

Alongside French, the NYF is also handing a Lifetime Achievement Award to the iconic commercial director Joe Sedelmaier, the man responsible for producing campaigns including FedEx's "fast-talking man" and Wendy's "where's the beef?".
