The World: Singapore - Bates hires Simon Lockyer to handle Nokia brief

Bates Asia has signed Simon Lockyer as its international business director in Singapore to head its Nokia business. He joins from DDB Singapore, where he was the regional group account director with responsibility for Philips, Johnson & Johnson and Pepsi. He replaces Lou dela Pena, who returns to the Philippines.

In 2004, Nokia handed Bates Asia global projects. "Nokia asked us to get somebody of global stature," the Bates Asia chief operating officer, Matthew Godfrey, said.
