The World: Sydney - Y&R Brands swoops to capture author Nigel Marsh

Nigel Marsh, the British-born adman whose book, Fat, Forty and Fired, became a bestseller in Australia, is to head Y&R Brands, one of the country's biggest agency groups.

Marsh takes over as chief executive in July after spending two years as chairman-at-large of Leo Burnett Australia. He will oversee the Y&R Brands agencies, which include George Patterson Y&R, The Campaign Palace, Idealworks and Wunderman.

Marsh shot to fame with his account of how he changed his life on finding himself jobless after the demise of D'Arcy in Australia. Hamish McLennan, the global chief of Y&R, said: "I think Nigel is a phenomenal talent."
