The World: Warsaw Agora launches daily newspaper Novy Dzien

Agora, the Polish publishing group, is launching a daily newspaper with backing of EUR20 million over two years.

From next week, Nowy Dzien (New Day) will be published six days a week and will carry a TV guide on Thursdays.

Agora is expecting daily copy sales of around 250,000, which will make it the third top-selling newspaper in the country behind Axel Springer's Fakt and its own Gazeta Wyborca.

The publisher has allocated EUR7.5 million for advertising during the fourth quarter of this year, and EUR11.3 million for communications in 2006.
