Worldpop.com is set to sponsor the official UK Top 40 singles and album charts in a three year world-wide sponsorship deal.
The move represents the first sponsorship deal for the previously unbranded charts, which are used by the BBC's Top of the Pops television show, BBC Radio 1 station, record companies, retailers and the press.
To support the deal, Worldpop will launch a concerted marketing drive, which will include update in-store chart displays, retail support packs and telemarketing.
Peter Powell, chairman of Worldpop, commented: "Our ambition is to make Worldpop the world's first stop for everything and anything to do with music. Sponsorship of the Top 40 chart is a perfect fit for us."
