Martin Sorrell's WPP has been voted Britain's top media company in a new survey to find the country's most admired companies.

The survey, conducted for Management Today by Nottingham Business School, took advice from industry analysts and senior management of the country's 10 largest media companies which were asked to rate each other's performance.

WPP, which topped the media poll ahead of Aegis and BskyB, joins the shortlist for contention as Britain's most admired company. Previous winners have included Reuters, Tesco and Cadbury Schweppes.
