Y&R to launch Media Edge

Young & Rubicam Media Europe has made three senior appointments as it prepares to relaunch next month as the Media Edge Europe.

Young & Rubicam Media Europe has made three senior appointments as

it prepares to relaunch next month as the Media Edge Europe.



James Sykes, a senior planner with Y&R Europe, joins as brand strategy

director. Martin Thomas, managing director of the Y&R subsidiary, Cohn &

Wolfe, becomes a director, with responsibility for managing ’total

communications’ packages for clients.



Lea Gregory, group account director at Y&R Media in Europe, has been

appointed marketing director. Her responsibilities include new business

and development of the company’s brand.



The trio will work from the Media Edge’s European headquaters in

London.



Clients include Colgate-Palmolive, Ericsson and Revlon. Launched

globally last September, the Media Edge is headed by Paul Woolmington,

the former worldwide media director at Ammirati Puris Lintas.



Charles Courtier, the managing director of Y&R Media Europe, who will

have the same role at the Media Edge, said: ’The role of the Media Edge

will be to build bridges between brands and consumers, using all

possible means of communications, not just advertising.’



Martin Ellis has replaced Thomas at Cohn & Wolfe.
