The internet portal company, Yahoo!, has appointed RPM3 to its UK

creative account.

RPM3 will create a TV and press campaign, breaking in the late spring

and marking the brand’s first appearance on terrestrial TV in the

UK.

The appointment is thought to be for the UK market only, but work for

the brand was previously handled on a pan-European basis by

Publicis.

Sources close to the business said Yahoo! saw presentations from several

agencies at the end of last year, finalising its selection process at

the beginning of this year.

Yahoo!’s campaign strategy will be to make the internet less

intimidating to consumers and to ditch its reputation as a facility only

for the computer obsessed. Press ads will appear in mainstream consumer

titles and not the specialist IT press.

Shelaine Green, European marketing director for Yahoo!, refused to

confirm that RPM3 was working on anything other than a

project-by-project basis for Yahoo!
