Yalplay.com turns to word of mouth dm campaign

- Yalplay.com, the European online music and video store, has launched a 'Recommend a Friend' direct marketing initiative that offers cash rewards for recommending new customers.

Yalplay, which was formerly known as iMVS, hopes to register up to 50,000 new customers by Christmas 1999. Yalplay is asking customers to recommend friends via e-mail. Each recommended customer receives £5 off the total value of their first purchase.

Yalplay customers are being sent an email inviting them to send in email addresses of friends who will receive the discount off their first purchase. As an incentive, participants will receive £2.50 for every recommended friend making a first purchase at Yalplay.
