A List: 2009

Welcome to the online home of the Campaign A-List.  At LIZH we’re big believers in working closely with talented people to help guide them through their entire careers. We work with many of today’s A-Listers, as well as the A-Listers of tomorrow. We’ve built our reputation over 25yrs by spotting the up and coming Creatives, Planners and Account Handlers then championing them as they climb the career ladder. After all, we want them all to be A-Listers for years to come. The A-list and LIZH are natural partners!

Go ahead and explore profiles of the who’s who in the industry and browse Campaign’s topical articles on A-list personalities and relevant career related issues. Feel free also to click on the LIZH logo for more information about us.

Career highlights

Editing The Sunday Times Style, Wallpaper* and Esquire. And a thank you for all my support in the last ever Take That official magazine.

Most cringeworthy moment of your career

When at Wallpaper*, I gave a speech to three people, none of whom spoke English, at Bayern Munich’s enormous football stadium.

Best thing about your job

Working with a genius team of writers, designers and editors.

Worst thing about your job

The ugly recycling bins that have appeared in our offices.

Advice for a wannabe A Lister

You’ve got your priorities wrong.

If you could be anyone else in this business, who would it be?

The readers. So I could sell even more copies.

What would you do on a sabbatical?

Worry about work.

Your USP?

I’m me.

What would you change about yourself?

My ability to hear every conversation that takes place in the office, however quietly it’s spoken.

Favourite media

The Observer, The Sunday Times, YouTube, BBC3, bbc.co.uk, Fantastic Man magazine, mediaguardian.co.uk.

Favourite shop

Melrose and Morgan, a deli in Primrose Hill, and the London Review Bookshop in Bloomsbury.

What’s the biggest lie you’ve told?

I’m looking for a long-term relationship.

How many toilets do you own?

Two.

What can’t you live without (apart from family)?

Credit cards, iPhone, friends, vodka and something to read.

Lowdown

Langmead will be buoyed by his title’s performance in a tough men’s magazine market this year. Strangely for an editor of a glossy packed with glamorous photos, Langmead is quite camera shy and feels he always ends up looking like “Michael Winner’s illegitimate child” in photographs.
