SEO Account Manager - The Company
My client are part of one of the largest players in the world offering advertising, creative and media services from offices in over 70 countries with more digital staff than any other agency. They've had a great year so far with a multitude of new client wins encompassing some world famous FMCG and Fashion brands as well as many other new clients. They have a well developed learning and development program and a sociable and meritocratic environment.
SEO Account Manager - The Role
The Account Manager reports to the Account Director
The purpose of the job is to work closely with the Account Director in delivering effective Content and SEO campaigns that exceed client objectives, managing key accounts and relationships, helping educate internal teams and staff members, and to continue developing their broad Digital knowledge.
-Thorough understanding of SEO product.
-High-level technical knowledge including the ability to execute all aspects of on-site and off-site SEO, Content marketing as necessary.
-Ability to utilise industry reporting, analysis and insight tools, such as SearchMetrics, Majestic SEO, etc.
-Understanding of the role SEO plays in the bigger picture alongside business objectives, KPI's and other marketing channels.
-Ability to sell new ideas and recommendations into clients.
-Deliver consistently high quality outputs i.e. technical audits, content strategies, presentations, proposals, reports.
-Keeping up-to-date with all industry developments.
-Achievement of client campaign objectives.
-Understanding of client business objectives and background.
-Education/training of account teams, staff and clients and selling the benefits of organic search.
-Leading meetings and generating actions and follow up with team and external suppliers.
-Effective support of Account Director with proposals, pitches, strategy.
-Build strong relationships with clients, becoming an integral part of managing search activity.
The following internal and external relationships will need to be built and continually improved:
-Respected Manager-led relationship with direct team members. Ability to both professionally mentor and critique team members.
-Continual collaboration with line management and alignment with goals and objectives of department.
-Ongoing relationship building with Newcast and Planning teams to continue to bring Performance Content onto the agenda.
-Friendly, professional relationship with all clients and content stakeholders.
-Collaborative relationship with third-party agencies, even if they have conflicting services or agendas.
-Positive relationships with suppliers and creation of new initiatives to allow us to continue to expand our service. Such as BrightEdge, DeepCrawl and ContentClick.
SEO Account Manager - Key Skills
In terms of education, English, Maths and Science GCSE's grades A-C (or equivalent) are essential. A post-graduate or undergraduate degree in relevant subject is also highly desirable.
Skills & Experience
-Minimum of two years' proven experience of working within a fast-paced agency environment working with enterprise-level clients.
-Minimum of one years' proven experience line-managing a team of content and SEO specialists, ideally within an agency, SEO or content-focused environment.
-Confident working as part of a specialist team and helping drive out service proposition forward.
-Confident, comfortable and professional when communicating with clients and third-parties.
-Basic understanding of how to measure impact of technical through analytics platforms and other external metrics.
-Understanding of key SEO tools required to complete content marketing backed by data - including MajesticSEO, SearchMetrics and BrightEdge.
-Understanding of how to use Search Trends, Demographic and User-behaviour data to reinforce an owned-first strategy.
-Ability to clearly communicate the way that SEO works, the necessity of SEO recommendations and prioritisation of individual components.
-Able to work to clear direction; stretching objectives; manage individual workload; layout work in well-planned and organised manner; maintains two-way dialogue with others on work and results; is a clear and frequent communicator.
-An entrepreneurial mind-set and work-ethic.
-Solid understanding of how websites and webservers work.
-Basic understanding of the workings of HTML and CSS.
-Proven demonstrable experience of managing and mentoring direct reports within the digital space
-Understanding programming languages such as PHP or ASP.net
-Experience presenting at digital marketing conferences and seminars
