Job Description

This is a senior sales and commercial role within Haymarket Business Media, responsible for generating revenues from clients operating in the UK not for profit sector. The Charities Account Manager will be the face of Third Sector Research and will be responsible for cementing Third Sector’s reputation for being the not for profit sector’s first choice for authoritative, relevant and engaging industry research.

The revenue scope of this role will include, but is not limited to, sales across various existing and developing research revenue streams, including a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the launch of the CBI Rolling Research Index, a highly important addition to the portfolio. This role requires someone who is capable of working with charities at the most senior level, as well as liaising with senior editorial and brand colleagues, and working alongside the Third Sector Display sales team.

Third Sector is the publication of choice for the UK not for profit sector. Encompassing a monthly print title, website with over 100,000 users a month, a wide portfolio of events as well as Research, the portfolio offers a wide ranging and engaging mix of activity in a radically changing sector.

The successful candidate will need to:
• Manage and develop a significant personal client base comprising of the largest charities and not for profit organisations in the UK
• Create and maintain an unrivaled profile within the not for profit sector through direct meetings, monthly and quarterly client presentations, conferences, shows, events etc
• Develop new ideas and understand the audience in order to strategically plan and strengthen the Third Sector Research brand and sales proposition
• Develop revenue from the corporate subscriptions revenue stream
• Possess a comprehensive understanding of the not for profit research sector and broader market, our products and competitor products both traditional and emerging
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of clients’ key objectives and business drivers coupled with how these might integrate with our research offering

This is a role which requires someone who:
• Can demonstrate an excellent understanding and proven experience in selling research / content solutions at a senior level
• Possesses strong research, data driven sales skills
• Is well-organised and meticulous in planning and reporting
• Able to identify new opportunities and be able to react quickly taking into account what competitors are doing
• Able to lead from the front and play a prominent role with clients
• Is capable of strategic thinking and being focused on achieving the business objectives
• Resilient and able to think through the challenges of a market that is constantly evolving
• Possesses strong communication and presentation skills
• Has experience of sales planning, implementation and execution
• Experience of presenting, and negotiating cross-platform deals
• Always strives to do what’s ‘best’ for clients
• Reports effectively to senior management
