Purpose of role

We are looking for an inspiring, talented copywriter to lead, drive and inspire our copy department, conceptualise and craft great ideas and make ideas live brilliantly online and offline. To challenge the norm with creative and disruptive thinking within the B2B tech arena. This is an exciting and pivotal role to ensure the continued success and expansion of our agency. As B2B Marketing Communications Agency of the Year 2015, with over 100 team members in 3 continents, this is a truly critical addition to our exceptional team.

Key responsibilities

  • Crafting of conceptual and strategic ideas across multiple agency client accounts
  • Bringing client briefs to life with powerful creative ideas, expressed well across all marketing channels
  • Understanding, interpreting and challenging briefs and successfully presenting work back to Client Service teams
  • Taking briefs directly from the client and presenting work back to clients in a compelling way
  • Nurturing the talent of younger writers in the team
  • Proactively seeking out new creative approaches, social media strategies and digital formats
  • Contributing articles to the agency blog and social media outlets
  • Maintaining a keen knowledge of our clients’ business and the technology sector as a B2B marketer
  • Thinking proactively on behalf of the agency always looking at ways to help the agency grow
  • Bring new copy/digital initiatives, trends and tools to the agency helping the agency stay ahead of the competition
  • Working with client services teams to train on brief writing, working with creative team to understand how to interpret creative briefs appropriately
  • Working closely with the Creative Director to deliver award winning creative

Essential skills and attributes


  • Creating compelling ideas, judging work with the scope of brands and briefs, implementing ideas with verve
  • Great visuals skills and the ability to craft words with design to work well in any media
  • Ability to dissect complex briefs to create multi layers copy and campaigns
  • A desire to surpass the expectations of that what is already expected of them

Digitally astute

Excellent understanding of digital marketing and how to deliver it: online advertising, social, search and beyond

Excellent digital experience and an ease working in online and social formats


  • The ability to work adaptably: as part of a large creative team, with an art director
  • partner or on their own, as the job requires
  • Award winning conceptual skills, as well as the ability to write long copy when required
  • Willingness to nurture and help develop the other members of the copy team


  • An ability to independently research B2B topic areas intelligently
  • An interest in technology and a desire to keep up-to-date with trends impacting both digital marketing and our clients
  • An exceptional eye for detail

Great communication skills

  • Excellent communication skills: able to work smoothly within the creative and client services teams and develop strong relationships with all departments
  • Strong presentation skills, internally and with clients


  • Great time keeping and a willingness to work late when needed to refine a project
  • Self-managing time, deadlines and team expectations and prioritizing work loads
  • Able to cope under pressure and work to tight deadlines
  • A positive attitude with a ‘all hands to the pump’ work ethic and a desire to do exceptional work

Ideal Characteristics

  • Substantial experience working within an agency, preferably an integrated B2B marketing agency
  • Excellent working knowledge of the B2B technology landscape
  • Excellent portfolio of online and offline work
  • Clear communicator and excellent presentation skills
  • Flexible, friendly and enthusiastic
  • An unrelenting desire for excellence

Remuneration / benefits

Salary: Up to £65,000 p/a (depending on experience) with 25 days’ holiday per year. Based in Harefield with opportunities to work at the April Six London office a couple of times  a week too. Following successful completion of the 4 month probationis period, health care (currently BUPA) will be added to the package.
