Our client is an award-winning special interest content and platform company who are looking for a Trading Group Head for one of their worldwide leading brands You will be primarily responsibility for the brand’s trading agency business across its print and digital channels. You will be responsible for achieving and exceeding budgets through your own sales and by assisting the rest of the team to increase print and digital revenues from agency trading.  With their website having undertaken significant recent development, they require a candidate with a comprehensive understanding and experience in the current digital trading landscape. You should boast an impressive track record of digital sales achievements that demonstrate innovation and firm ROI metrics for clients.

Working closely with the Advertising Director and Partnerships Group Head, you will own and deliver the digital part of the  brand strategy and budget and be involved in the development of the overall Ad Sales strategy. You will be responsible for the growth of the digital display, programmatic, video, mobile and social media revenues plus any identified new revenue lines. In doing so, you will work closely with editorial, insight, design and tech teams to develop and deliver innovative, market-leading solutions, seeking to extend the product suite wherever needed to keep the brand competitive and on their key advertisers media schedules.


  • Responsible for maximizing revenues print and digital revenues from agency/client/category patch
  • To grow share and new business from allocated agency/client/category patch
  • Full management & servicing of agency patch (print and digital) to enable the development of deep relationships with relevant agency contacts,
  • Client contacts – develop strong relationships at all levels of buying influence with specific focus on all key automotive accounts with spend potential for their product portfolio
  • Maintenance and understanding of the revenue pipeline and ad delivery to enable accurate forecasting & budgeting, both skills that are tuned to the needs of the business
  • Direct line management of Digital Sales Planner. Responsible for their day to day job performance, including regular 1-2-1 meetings, appraisals & professional development
  • Extensive knowledge of major media agencies at a minimum of Manager level across Planning, Buying & Commas teams, all with a strong digital emphasis
  • Monitor digital market trends, striving to develop exciting & market leading solutions across the whole portfolio
  • Demonstrate a creative sales flair so as to leverage the full range of the Brand’s commercial opportunities
  • Ongoing competitor analysis, press & digital for relevant agencies. Develop a strong understanding of competitor brands across print & online
  • Ideally a passion and knowledge of the UK motoring industry/market but not essential
  • Strong team player who leads by example and encourages collaboration to achieve the best results
  • Ability to devise, draft and implement annual sales plans & strategy with quarterly updates & revisions
  • Work closely with the brand  editorial on planning new initiatives and proactive sales ideas
  • Work closely with design and product development on new digital products
  • Responsible for all digital sales collateral and development of sales story
  • Work closely with design team on best in class  presentations and pitches
  • Assisting AD in analyzing training needs for the sales team and individuals
  • Regular liaison with key stakeholders: Editorial, Ad Ops and Tech/Product teams
  • Strong administration skills and sound attention to detail ensuring all bookings are confirmed and run correctly, minimizing errors, queries and credits
  • To stand in for the AD for set tasks and duties
