International Assistant Area Manager
A vacancy has arisen for an International (Assistant) Area Manager (IAAM) for a UK based market leader in the healthcare sector, with a portfolio of products steeped in heritage.
Working within the expanding Emerging Markets division, the IAAM will be responsible for providing the General Manager with the support required to achieve its growth target and territory expansion within the Russian (Russia, Ukraine, Baltics, Moldova, Armenia ) and African (South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana) markets. You will provide support to the GM and Distributors resulting in growth, sales and profits. To fully manage the designated territories such and to new account and countries within the assigned territories.
It is the International (Assistant) Area Manager's responsibility to assess and implement the best strategy for products in each country to maximise sales and profit. This will involve researching new markets to check the regulatory environment and sales opportunities. Once the opportunity has been identified and checked, each new market will be visited to ensure the assumptions are tested and the any potential distributor meets set criteria.
Distributor Managed Markets are managed following best practice to ensure uniformity, visibility and ongoing support. Each country will have different cultures and nuances, which in turn provides great diversity to the role, however it also provides the greatest challenges. One approach will not work in every market so the International Area Manager must be flexible and adaptable to challenges with the gravitas necessary to influence the distributor.
To be considered for the role, you will have ideally worked in FMCG export/International sales management with a proven track record in delivering profitable sales growth. Knowledge of the healthcare of pharmaceutical sectors are highly desirable attributes and fluent Russian and/French are highly desirable skills for this role.
Whilst Internationally renowned, the client is a close knit family run business and the team ethos is very important to them. As such the ability to get to the HQ in SW London is necessary.
