Head of Acquisition - Manchester - up to £70K

The Company

My client is a household name in the online gambling industry, covering sportsbook and casino products. They are undergoing a transformation and in an exciting growth phase as a result.

The Role

As part of an aggressive growth plan, they are currently recruiting for a Head of Acquisition to design and deliver the marketing strategy and execution across all channels and media.

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an acquisition strategy to deliver profitable customer acquisition across all channels - including digital acquisition affiliates, PPC, display, SEO, customer referral, consumer PR
  • Produce and manage the technical roadmap for the development of new technology to support the acquisition channels
  • Responsible for selecting and managing appropriate 3rd parties/agencies to assist in the delivery of the marketing strategy
  • Responsible for regular reporting on performance of all marketing activity and delivering presentations and insight to the relevant business stakeholders
  • Monitor, report and act upon competitor activity to ensure we retain and grow market share in all relevant areas
  • Assemble and manage a team that is able to deliver the company's objectives
  • Manage current and develop new relationships with media and affiliate partners
  • On and Off page optimisation research
  • Ensure that all sites are technically optimised to drive rankings and organic visits
  • Work closely with the editorial teams to ensure that existing content on the site is compliant
  • Integrating social media marketing into SEO campaign to boost natural link profile
  • Responsible for monitoring, tracking and producing accurate and timely reports in Excel and PowerPoint for internal and external stakeholders as per schedule or upon request
  • Monthly performance status updates in Excel for Directors


Please only apply if you possess the following:

  • 3-5 years' experience of internet marketing, agency or client-side
  • Very strong communications skills (written, verbal and presentational)
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills.Extensive experience of all marketing channels with a primary focus on digital marketing channels (broad appreciation of all channels needed but specialist skills in 2-3 specific channels preferred)
  • Strong organisational skills and experience of balancing multiple projects at once
  • Experience of managing/auditing media and media agencies preferable
  • Evidence of strong people and project management skills
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and third party service providers
  • Experience with: Google Analytics, MOZ, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console and AdWords
  • HTML/CSS coding experience
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret and present data
  • Strong time management skills
  • Team player, able to work with multiple business functions to achieve objectives
