Our client is a branded international manufacturer located in the North East. They are currently looking for a European Category Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing 3-5 year European Product & go to market strategy and then implementing it in partnership with regional business units
  • Conduct strategic range review practices
  • Maximise sales into the market by leveraging other division and group products and services
  • Monitor market share and growth in sector
  • Full responsibility for Segment launches
  • Responsible for the business case to justify input into the NPD process
  • Identify and develop potential acquisitions, partnerships, alliances to grow sales and capability in the chosen market segment
  • Regularly feedback market and competitor trend information
  • Identify key success factors for growing sales in each region / country, i.e growth workshops, exhibitions, conferences
  • Participate in market specific conferences and take active role in industry forums to ensure up to date market info, raise the company profile and influence future guidelines and standards

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Ideally qualified to degree level in a marketing or related discipline
  • Experience in the development of strategic marketing plans
  • Experience of delivering technical presentations at industry conferences is desirable
  • Experience in developing and executing segment launch plans.
  • High level of negotiation skills
  • Ability to influence and drive objectives throughout the organisation as well as externally
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide clear purpose and direction whilst articulating a compelling view of the future aligned to business objectives
  • Employs visual thinking, insight, imagination and intuition
  • Ability to develop strong business relationships with customers whilst understanding their requirements, expectations and needs
