Job Title: Business Director

Location: Central London

Salary: £65,000 + Bonus

Our client is a multinational communications agency. Their digital-first world vision is to bring media and creative together.  They provide an excellent office culture with regular social events for the whole office.  They are looking for someone who can play a lead role in managing their profitable account, working closely with the client to create new, innovative and effective campaign solutions. 

You will lead your team in providing the best in class service for this client, and deliver innovative solutions to their business needs.  You will be managing and developing your team, imparting your knowledge to strengthen client relationship and encourage organic strategic growth.  A major part of the role will be challenging the client to think in new ways in terms of delivering business needs and answering briefs with a focus on all aspects of digital media.

The Role

  • Manage an account team within the agency which is effective, profitably run and delivers growth
  • Oversee the consistent delivery of the agency service to the clients, across strategy, media, digital, and innovation
  • Inspire your team and clients through your passion for media and in particular digital
  • Management of senior client relationships and the ability to provide best in class client stewardship
  • Owns the response to client briefs – ensuring that team and agency output is genuinely best in class
  • Manage a portfolio of clients on a day to day basis, coordinating the execution of the media plan with other internal specialist teams and with media owners, as required
  • Work closely with clients to understand client business challenges and identification of suitable additional agency services to address the clients’ actual needs. We only want our talent to sell additional services to our clients that we know we will add value and strengthen the relationship
  • Leads and manages client projects through to completion
  • Places the client’s needs at the heart of all delivery and building strong, meaningful relationships with client peers
  • Strong internal commercial management including accurate and up to date forecasting, committed management of commercial action plans and a good eye for delivering profitability for the agency
  • Demonstration of an obsession for the client’s business performance at all times, restlessly challenging the status quo
  • Leads new business initiatives and partners with the managing partners on pitches, as required
  • Drive innovation and fresh thinking across the client’s business as well as across the agency
  • Act as a cultural lead for the agency by leading by example and inspiring others.  Demonstration of strong upward management skills to ensure that all senior leaders are continually aware of business, people and client risks and opportunity
  • Work as a fully collaborative, positive team player across all business areas, actively sharing learnings between peer
  • Ensures team members adhere to quality assurance processes at all times
  • Ensures the AD and DD are working to deliver integrated plans that display a deep understanding of all channels

Experience

  • Prior experience as a business lead is essential; media agency experience is a must
  • Strong team leadership skills and experience of creating a collaborative team culture
  • Proven high level communications experience across a range of client types
  • Inspiring presentation skills and proven pitch and new business success
  • Working knowledge of paid, owned, earned and shared media and experience of transforming clients from a traditional media model
  • Strong commercial acumen with a willingness to sell-in commercial opportunities
  • Passionate about media especially the brand and performance dynamic
  • Strong business, market, consumer and brand/performance understanding
  • Display an agile and innovative way of thinking
  • Graduated to degree level or equivalent
