We are looking for an exceptional Senior Sales Executive who will have the  objective to develop and grow revenue of new and existing advertisers through the effective management of an agency and client portfolio.

This position is selling across a market leading Youth & Children’s portfolio from pre-school to teen and provides an opportunity to sell across a variety of revenue streams (creative solutions, digital, display, direct marketing). This is an exciting opportunity to develop  digital skills and experience. 

Responsibilities:

Market knowledge

  • To be seen as an expert in Youth & Children’s within the competitive set
  • To demonstrate a broad knowledge of the market and have a sound understanding of trends
  • To comprehend,  interpret and present sales data to maximise advertising potential
  • To fully articulate the company’s proposition and its relevance to advertisers
  • To effectively utilise the Insight team according to need

    Personal agency portfolio

  • Responsible for achieving and exceeding monthly print budgets
  • To pro-actively sell Youth & Children’s proposition in to agencies and clients
  • To effectively manage all personal agency/client portfolio through a fully integrated strategy
  • To have active relationships with all key contacts across portfolio including key press buying and planning agency team contacts and direct clients
  • To have specific, measurable performance improvement targets/goals for new, existing and lapsed advertisers as agreed with Group Ad Manager
  • To effectively adapt selling technique according to market conditions
  • Identify new clients to target across both sectors
  • To ensure that all competitor leads are chased and followed up at all times 
  • To attend a minimum of 4 external meetings per week

Negotiation

  • To effectively negotiate the best rate possible for every piece of business
  • To effectively manage all deals to maximise revenue and share
  • To help identify and create client led deal opportunities
  • To effectively negotiate multiple title campaigns


    Presentation

  • To create and present effective pitches showcasing portfolio potential to maximum effect
  • To confidently present on both a 1:1 basis or within a group
  • To effectively utilise Insight in preparation for all meetings and in all presentations
  • To ensure all titles and platforms are considered and where appropriate included in pitches

Qualifications:

  • The ability to influence and persuade others
  • Resilience
  • Experience selling to agencies and clients in a highly competitive market
  • Experience preparing sales material and proposals
  • Experience in selling face to face and formal presentations
  • Sound understanding of the flat-plan & production process
  • An understanding of industry research and the ability to make use of data and tools to construct a sales argument
  • Creative solutions experience preferable
  • Ability to construct different sales arguments for different audiences and to multi-task between portfolios
  • Good communication and excellent time management skills are essential
  • Strong team player
