Creative Lead / Senior Designer

A Creative Lead is needed to join a thriving charity to help bring the story of England to life for over 10 million visitors a year, at over 400 sites across the country. Primarily based from their Swindon office, expect to act as a visual brand guardian managing a great team of talented designers.

From world-famous prehistoric sites to grand medieval castles, from Roman forts on the edge of an empire to a Cold War bunker, they are now looking for a Creative Lead to deliver innovative, on brand creative communications.

Reporting to the Head of Brand, the Creative Lead will play a vital role managing a team of 7 creatives (designers, artworkers plus some freelancers). On a day-to-day basis expect to provide inspirational creative direction, oversee / approve designs and artworks, collaborate with internal departments and external agencies, ensure brand integration for off and online campaigns, liaise with clients and anything else necessary to ensure exceptional design projects are delivered on time and to budget.

To qualify... You should be a Creative Lead / Senior Designer / Senior Creative / Creative Director or similar with an impressive portfolio and a CV that demonstrates:

  • A track record of developing the visual direction for high profile consumer brands;
  • Experience of leading and managing a high performing agency or in-house design team;
  • Strong conceptual thinker, able to think creatively and strategically as to how to overcome problems and maximise opportunities
  • The ability to sell in brand visual strategy and gain buy-in from colleagues;
  • You are flexible and adaptable to changing priorities;
  • Proven ability to deliver creative elements of projects on brief, on time and on budget;
  • Technical experience of graphics packages and software;
  • The willingness to travel – occasional travel to sites and the London office is required;
  • A BA Hons Degree in Graphic Design or similar.

Some marketing knowledge would be advantageous.
