Senior Account Director - Sports Sponsorship Salary commensurate with experience
Our client is the sponsorship specialist within a large, full service international group of companies – they have led the way in devising and activating some of the world’s best known sponsorship campaigns. An opportunity has arisen for a talented senior integrated communications professional to join their team; we are looking for someone with a track record in building and delivering creative campaigns which work cross channel. The company boasts an impressive portfolio of clients covering major brands involved in football, Olympics, rugby, tennis, Formula One, other mainstream sports and entertainment. They work in partnership with their clients and are valued for their professionalism, expertise and creativity.
You will be given a large amount of autonomy from the word go, being wholly accountable for the management of key blue chip clients across a number of sponsorship interests. You will need to demonstrate gravitas and that you’ve built trusted relationships with blue chip clients before as you’ll be managing client relationships at the highest level. You will be creative; an ideas person who can devise innovative campaigns and see them through to successful delivery. Strong team leadership and mentoring skills are important too as you will be responsible for directing a team; nurturing and mentoring them to achieve their full potential. Finally, an interest in new business and contributing to the long term growth of the organisation is essential as you’ll be involved in pitching and developing new client relationships.
Our ideal candidate doesn’t have to come from a sports (sponsorship) background, although a personal passion for sport and entertainment is preferred – you could have a background working on broader marketing or digital campaigns for consumer brands that would translate well into this space. What is important is a flare for creativity and innovation; the ability to build an idea from insight that works across multiple channels and engages successfully with your target audience. Experience of running a global football account will be viewed extremely favourably.
