Ambitious media company successfully operating within the Fitness, Food & Nutrition and Endurance Sport markets seeking an experienced Content Director in a newly created position

The Company's media output spans print (monthly consumer magazines), digital media and events - as well as branded content and media production services for a range of predominantly UK and US clients.

Over 13 years of heritage, and is in growth. Now seeking an entrepreneurial and innovative sales professional to support the CEO in expanding the business further both domestically and internationally acting as Commercial Director for the business.



The Role

To manage all content across owned and earned media as well as content production for third party clients looking for branded content solutions, as well as management of all editorial, social and design staff for the business in the UK, US and rest of world.

You will be directly responsible for delivery of branded content production services. You will be expected to engage with customers to develop and deliver a variety of content solutions.

As Content Director, you will be expected to set and deliver audience growth targets (again owned and earned media channels), and support the growth of influencer content distribution and relationships.

Person specification

  • Minimum 5 years media experience in a Content lead role in a digital consumer facing environment
  • An entrepreneurial commercial mind who relishes the development of new content offerings that lead to revenue generating opportunities
  • Experience of managing a creative team
  • Proven record of delivering digital audience growth
  • A proven track record of creativity in the commissioning/ creation of video content and social media that has delivered significant audiences
  • A deep understanding of social media and applications and the catalysts for organic audience growth
  • A thorough understanding of online products and how audio-visual content works within them
  • Proven ability to create a compelling website experience
  • Proven project management and quality control capability
  • Experience of working closely with technology teams to promote integrated and user-friendly applications and services.
  • Experience of analysing and integrating consumer intelligence and audience data into content commissioning decisions
  • Ideally a passion for health and fitness, endurance or combat sports
