New Business and Marketing Manager - Manchester - £40-45k

Highly respected media agency, based in central Manchester, is looking for a New Business and Marketing Manager to join their client-focussed team.

Reporting into the Director, your role will have two distinct parts: New Business - responsible for all facets of prospecting for and pitching to new clients, as well as supporting the introduction of new services to existing clients; and Marketing - responsible for building strong relationships within the industry and prospective client sectors in order to enhance the agency's reputation in the market, including events and PR).

You will run new business pitch processes from first contact to completion. Essential to this will be the management of the key stakeholders involved in the pitch. Pitch responsibilities will vary hugely depending on the requirements of the pitch, from the administrative to the inspirational. This can include video production, pre- and post-pitch marketing, microsite creation and everything in between. You will maintain the momentum of the agency's prospecting strategy, identifying new business targets and implementing effective contact strategies, producing collateral where required.

You will manage the agency's PR output by building relationships with key publications in both the media industry and sector specific stakeholders for new business prospects. You will also manage updates to the client contacts database, ensuring this is carried out regularly (minimum three times a year) ready for 100% accurate direct mail opportunities.

You will also oversee the organisation of client, press and internal events, which includes awards entry processes.

You will come from an agency-side background, ideally as an Account Director (or similar), with the experience of pitching and managing clients within creative services and media. You will have a high level of digital literacy, preferably with previous practical experience in implementing B2B / customer relationship marketing. You will have a good working knowledge of the media industry, ideally with experience in a media, marketing, PR or publishing agency. Media sales candidates will be considered, but you must have a demonstrable track record and please note that this role is not commissioned.
