Eurostar direct pitch narrowed down to three

LONDON - EHS Brann, Tullo Marshall Warren and WAVV Rapp Collins are the final three agencies pitching for Eurostar's pan-European below-the-line account.

Eurostar originally selected five agencies for the shortlist in July -- EHS Brann, Good Technology, Gyro, TMW and WWAV Rapp Collins.

It is understood that Good Technology declined to pitch soon after the shortlist was announced and Gyro has pulled out due to differences of opinion with Eurostar about strategy, leaving EHS Brann, TMW and WAVV Rapp Collins left in the running.

Proximity, the incumbent on the brand's direct marketing account, initially agreed to repitch but later withdrew.

The consolidated account consists of e-commerce and loyalty responsibilities across Europe, as well as CRM programmes in the UK.

On Tuesday, Marketing magazine revealed that Greg Nugent, Eurostar's UK marketing chief, and one of the industry's most high-profile marketers, is stepping down.

Nugent, who joined Eurostar five years ago, will leave his job in November. He will stay on for a few weeks in an advisory role but plans to leave the company completely by the end of the year.
