The Saatchi brothers, whose first agency was announced in a front-page exclusive in 1970, are included along with other industry pioneers who helped turn UK advertising into a creative world leader.
The founders of such iconic agencies as Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO and Bartle Bogle Hegarty all feature.
So also do figures such as Ray Morgan, who played a pivotal role in making media planning and buying into a central part of the advertising process, and WPP’s Sir Martin Sorrell, who probably did more than anybody to ensure agency groups are run as disciplined businesses.
Stanley Pollitt and Stephen King, the joint fathers of account planning, are two of the Hall of Fame’s posthumous members.
And there’s recognition also of Collett Dickenson Pearce, where a number of Hall of Fame inductees spent their early careers.
