Associated News hires Agambar as chief marketing officer

LONDON - Roland Agambar has joined Associated News and Media as chief marketing officer from News International after he quit as head of marketing for The Sun and News of the World following the arrival of Jeremy Schwarz in the newly-created role of NI chief marketing officer.

Associated News hires Agambar as chief marketing officer

Agambar will report to Guy Zitter, managing director of Mail Newspapers, and takes responsibility for the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday. He joins Linda Grant who has taken the new role of director of commercial development for Associated News and Media with immediate effect.

At NI, Agambar will be replaced by Allan MacCaskill, the head of brand marketing at News Group Newspapers.

  • Asia takes centre stage for ecommerce

    According to a recent global survey by eMarketer, 2012 saw B2C ecommerce sales in the Asia-Pacific region grow more than 33% to $332.46 billion.

    The same report predicts that this year, the region will see another sharp hike with sales increasing by more than 30% to over $433 billion—accounting for over one-third of all global B2C ecommerce sales. This will put the Asia-Pacific in pole position in global B2C ecommerce sales, for the first time, surpassing even North America.
