Is a lavish dinner party really the best place you could think of to discuss recession?

People are losing their jobs and you sit there smirking into your hors dourves, swilling champagne and spouting painfully cliche'd jargon. All the while arrogantly assuming that the industry faithful will, as ever, lap up your drivle like baby birds lapping vomit from their mother's mouth.

Seriously?
