It is talking to both traditional ad agencies from the UK and Europe, and specialist fashion marketing and branding companies.
An agency is expected to be appointed before the end of the year.
Gucci has produced its campaigns in-house, using photographers and models to front the ads, but has now briefed agencies to devise a brand idea that will bring together its separate divisions.
The hunt for a global ad shop follows a review of Gucci’s media arrangements.
It has since appointed ZenithOptimedia to its $45 million US media business.
