BR Video: Public happy to see Jonathan Ross back on TV

LONDON - Most members of the public are glad that Jonathan Ross is back on the BBC with many believing the Sachsgate scandal was blown out of proportion by the media according to the latest Brand Republic video -- watch it now.

Following Jonathan Ross's return to his BBC chat show after a three month suspension for making prank calls to 'Fawlty Towers' actor Andrew Sachs, Brand Republic took to the streets to find out if the public are happy about it.

The majority of people interviewed thought that it was good that Ross was back on TV with many saying he makes them laugh and that the Sachsgate scandal was a "storm in a teacup".

A couple of people weren't pleased to see him return to the BBC with one person claiming that if he was in any other job the "P45 would be in the post".

A number of people said that the media had used Ross as an example, with some going so far as to describe it as a witch-hunt.

Ross got a big audience on his return to the airwaves on January 23 with his 'Friday Night with Jonathan Ross' with 4.7m viewers tuning in to see guests including Tom Cruise and Stephen Fry, but the audience dipped the following week to 3.4m.

Ross also managed to cause fresh controversy when he returned to his BBC Radio 2 show when he joked that his producer should have sex with his 86-year-old Spanish neighbour.
