WHAT TOPICS HAS THE INDUSTRY BEEN DISCUSSING THIS WEEK?
THE TALK TIME SPENT
The appointment of David Abraham as Channel 4's 38 mins
new chief executive. Once an adman, always an adman,
so it's surely good news for C4's commercial customers
to know that there's someone in charge who understands
where they're coming from. Then again, wasn't Andy Duncan a
marketer?
BMW's pitchlist. For such a blue-chip client, the 34 mins
industry expected a host of big, traditional agencies.
Does the list, which includes Karmarama and The Brooklyn
Brothers, suggest naivety on BMW's part or a desire for a
faster-moving advertising approach?
What biblical name are the Adam & Eve boys going 17 mins
to use for their next venture? How about an in-house
production company called The Ark? A DM arm called
Purgatory? Maybe a publishing division called Hell?
