Dorling Kindersley 'Human Body app' by AKQA

4.9 5 Votes

AKQA has created an iPad app for the publisher Dorling Kindersley. The Human Body app is an adaptation of The Human Body Book.

Written in conjunction with doctors and practitioners, the app covers 12 systems of the body, is illustrated with more than 200 specially commissioned images and contains almost 100 story pages, each with accompanying text, annotations and illustrations.

Readers can swipe away 3D layers of body systems, zoom in to highly detailed illustrations and even feel the heart beat through the iPad. The designers were Richard Baxter and Paul Tinker, and the developers were Nick Lockwood and PJ Cook.
