CBE is awarded to ISBA’s Hooper
John Hooper, director general of the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers (ISBA), has been awarded a CBE for his services to advertising.
John Hooper, director general of the Incorporated Society of
British Advertisers (ISBA), has been awarded a CBE for his services to
advertising.
Hooper, who recently urged the Independent Television Commission to
increase the amount of ad minutage available, is the only ad industry
professional to receive the accolade this year. Hooper said: ’I am
thrilled and accept the award on behalf of the industry.’
Three key industry players were awarded knighthoods: Ross Buckland,
chief executive of Unigate, for his services to the food industry and
the environment; Dominic Cadbury, chairman of Cadbury Schweppes, for his
services to the food industry, and; Thomas Farmer, chairman and CEO of
Kwik-Fit, for his services to the automotive industry.
Gus MacDonald, executive chairman of Scottish Media Group was also
awarded a CBE for his services to broadcasting, and Tom Vyner,
Sainsbury’s group deputy chairman, received one for his services to food
retailing.
