Taking a lead from French cinema, the new Dulux ad, "une journee d'amour", makes a nice change from the jolly japes provided by the likes of Neil Morrissey in other DIY-related campaigns, writes Jennifer Whitehead. Created by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, the ad shows a woman falling for the handsome decorator who comes to paint her house. She prepares to make her move, but tragedy strikes as the decorator, who uses Dulux Once, is finished the job in no time and leaves with a doleful look on his face. Zut alors! Written and art directed by Nick Worthington and Paul Brazier; directed by Toby McDonald through The Paul Weiland Film Company.
