Land Rover's ads aim to position the car as the world's most versatile off-roader with an illustrated print ad, "batman", featuring an eerie and threatening looking Gotham City at night. Instead of the infamous batman symbol, the shape of a Land Rover Defender is projected into the darkened sky. At the bottom of the ad the tagline reads "Defender. Go beyond."
