My Character:
What's the best lesson you've learnt this year?
Patience is overrated.
What's the most satisfying thing you've done recently and why?Working in Italy at our Milan office on a major campaign. Why? Because Italy is eternally seductive.
You're asked to do a TED talk. What would you choose to talk about and why?Creativity should be taught. Because original thought is a natural resource like oil or gas.
You've got £1 million to invest in something. Who/what gets your money?Trager Delaney – my daughter's highly successful but financially challenged fashion label.
What single thing would improve your life?Reading books faster.
You've found a time-travel machine. Where do you go?Nowhere. I am happy with now.
It's 2020. What are you doing?Pretty much the same as now.
Oops, the world ends tomorrow. What do you do today?Cook a really good pasta meal.
But if you could be anyone else in adland for a day, who would you be and why?Dan Wieden. He had an idea and it works brilliantly to this day.
What will be your legacy (assuming the world doesn't actually end tomorrow)?A company that has always stood by its principles, even in adversity.
This is still a great business because…You are asked to solve seemingly intractable problems and, along the way, you meet some very intelligent and idiosyncratic people.
What makes you, you?Non-PC humour. A dislike of anything pretentious.
