Bye-bye the decade with no name. What are you relieved to draw a line under?

Glad we can forget about all the "visions" we were supposed to have realised by 2020 and start again with another 10 years to achieve our 2030 visions.

What’s your biggest hope for the decade ahead?

That the oven-ready Brexit gets thoroughly zapped in the microwave and we can get back to thinking of ourselves as Europeans and enjoying life as part of a diversity of cultures.

And what’s top of your professional to-do list for the 2020s?

Taking Leo Burnett back to where it has been and should be once again as a brilliant and successful agency.

You have to job swap with someone in our industry for one month. Who would it be with and why?

I recently met a young creative, fresh out of college and in her first proper job. Her excitement to be doing a job she loves in an amazing industry was infectious and yet to be punctured by fatigue or cynicism. I wouldn't mind a bit of that for a month or so.

Who is your best friend in the industry and why?

Right now, my best friend in the industry is my amazing PA Sasha Trayfoot. She keeps me organised, fed, watered and sane. I would be lost without her.

What do you think the Friday feeling is?

Wondering what happened between Monday and Friday and looking forward to doing it all over again once I have got the weekend out of the way and have remembered what I should be doing on the Monday that I didn't get around to doing in the last Monday to Friday…

Who or what would you put into room 101 and why?

Amazon – it is ruining my life and bank balance. The thinking time between the impulse to buy something and ordering it is now reduced to nanoseconds, which is not enough to change your mind and decide that thing is actually ghastly.

If you could uninvent one piece of technology, what would you choose and why?

Satnav – taking orders without thinking from a disembodied voice must be bad for society, the brain and for us creative souls.

In the spirit of embracing failure… What has been your biggest screw-up?

There was a chemistry meeting in 2012 that went spectacularly badly. It's hard to relive the memories but impossible to forget the (entirely justified) bollocking I got from Ben Fennell. Boy, were lessons learned.

What do you do to stay match fit?

Keeping my two-year-old entertained in these cold, dark, winter months is a Herculean effort involving physical, mental and emotional resilience. Perfect training for agency life.

What would be your darts walk-on music and why?

Not being a darts player and having no faith that any dart would hit the board, I would go for something slow, downbeat and soporific, like the sound of waves. White noise that will hopefully put the crowd to sleep before I have to throw anything.
