firstname.lastname@example.orgBye-bye the decade with no name. What are you relieved to draw a line under?
Career-wise, nothing. I've had an absolute blast. And I have just started another exciting chapter with my new friends at Digitas. What’s your biggest hope for the decade ahead?
That we take effective and decisive action on climate change and protecting our environment, fast. If we don't sort that out, we can more or less forget everything else. I was in Namibia this year. They only had 30 days of water left. That puts your priorities in order. And what’s top of your professional to-do list for the 2020s?
Right now it's completing the creative restructure at Digitas, bringing tech and creative closer together. I am excited to see the creative results of that. You have to job swap with someone in our industry for one month. Who would it be with and why?
I'd like to be Bob May for a month. Bob is on reception at my old agency. I'd love to be on reception, not to have to think about anything very hard and not make any decisions. Bob is also really rude. That'd be fun too.Who is your best friend in the industry and why?
Annette King. Fiercely smart. Cares deeply about others. No matter how busy she is (very) she always has time for you. Truly wicked sense of humour. Lets me dance around her kitchen island in the wee small hours to 80s disco tunes. What do you think the Friday feeling is?
Ah, is that the the feeling I get around Thursday? Problem is, that means waking up with that Saturday feeling on a Friday. Bummer.Who or what would you put into room 101 and why?
People in the UK who still insist on buying plastic bottles of water, even though our tap water is perfectly OK to drink. Get over yourselves. If you could uninvent one piece of technology, what would you choose and why?
I'd reinvent social media. Take away the anonymity because bullies love to hide. Write algorithms that don't create echo chambers with the resulting polarisation, ignorance and division. In the spirit of embracing failure… What has been your biggest screw-up?
If, like me, you approach life with a "disaster is just over the horizon" attitude you remain alert to potential pratfalls and can (usually) head them off. People who say "It's all going to fine" drive me nuts. Science has actually proven that they are more prone to misfortune. Ha ha, you fools! What do you do to stay match fit?
I still do the work. I am a player/manager. And I still feel I need to constantly prove myself. What would be your darts walk-on music and why?
Poison Arrow – ABC.
