Bye-bye the decade with no name. What are you relieved to draw a line under?

The talk of austerity, our love affair with plastics and many, many harmful politicians.

What’s your biggest hope for the decade ahead?

That we all finally take responsibility and do something meaningful to protect our planet.

And what’s top of your professional to-do list for the 2020s?

Stay curious, open and optimistic.

You have to job swap with someone in our industry for one month. Who would it be with and why?

Mark Zuckerberg. I would spend the whole month making all the changes he should have made many years ago involving privacy and fake news, to name a couple.

Who is your best friend in the industry and why?

Tim Delaney. The most generous, fearsomely smart and funny person I know. He is a true mentor and friend. And, importantly, a great person to share a bottle of Burgundy with at the end of a difficult (or not) day.

What do you think the Friday feeling is?

Let's Dance by David Bowie. The best way to start the weekend.

Who or what would you put into room 101 and why?

All the people responsible for the never-ending roadworks in the West End of London, especially the new crazy routing of Tottenham Court Road. They are all irresponsible pollution creators.

If you could uninvent one piece of technology, what would you choose and why?

A replacement for all types of plastic that is properly and truly not harmful to the planet in any way whatsoever.

In the spirit of embracing failure… What has been your biggest screw-up?

Not following any of my wonderful health plans in any consistent way. Maybe 2020 will be the year I finally do.

What do you do to stay match fit?

1. I always stay fully immersed in diverse client businesses – diverse issues, diverse solutions. 2. Non-exec directorships to remain fully rooted in macro issues. 3. I read all papers online (from the Financial Times to the Daily Mail). 4. Spend one week a year at Lanserhof Tegernsee to recharge my mental and physical health.

What would be your darts walk-on music and why?

(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher by Jackie Wilson. A tribute to my husband (and fans, of course).
